DCC Temporary Council Chambers – Audio Visual Conferencing
Contracted by Dunedin City Council, Aotea Audio Visual was tasked with temporarily relocating the Council Meeting Room to the Dunedin Public Art Gallery while renovations were underway at the Municipal Chambers.
The project required a full transfer of AV conferencing functionality into a space not originally designed for such use. With a tight timeframe and a mix of legacy and new hardware, the team had to carefully assess what could be reused, what needed upgrading, and how best to integrate everything into the new environment.
Aotea worked closely with Council Project Staff to design and implement a bespoke video conferencing solution that met all compliance and regulatory standards. This included reconfiguring a complex microphone system, installing a hearing loop, and adding screens, speakers, and PTZ cameras to ensure seamless functionality.
The result was a fully operational, fit-for-purpose AV system delivered on time and within budget—providing the Council with a reliable and professional meeting space during the renovation period.
